DIY vintage tins

How many of you have Christmas tins (or any tin for that matter) that just don't make the cut on being cute enough and will most likely be in the garbage in one week? Well, I have plenty. Here is a quick project to make use of all those tins and maybe even inspiring some organizing. If not, they would look cute just sitting on a shelf. And don't we all love cute.

1. Spray paint your tin whatever color tickles your fancy.
2. Resize (I used photoshop) your label to fit your tin.
I found my labels here. Hugh selection!
3. Print labels onto sticker paper, cut, and place on tin.
Easy peezy, lemon squeezy! (my daughters favorite new saying) Can't wait to make some more!

paper snowflakes

My daughter spent the better part of this afternoon and evening making paper snowflakes. There were so many little scraps of paper on the floor, I think we could have opened up a confetti store.

Tutorial found at High Hopes.
Of course, we had to display all of her hard work. My little clothesline never felt so happy having all of these snowflakes on parade.

winter decor

Now that the Christmas decor is down, it is time for the winter decor to be put up. I added a quick change to my kitchen table that really brings in a sense of winter. Snowflake doilies made by my great grandma, thrifted milk glass bowls filled with oranges, turquoise mason jar (one of my favorite possesions), and fabric circles that have been stapled to some clothesline...yes I said stapled.

I have been dreaming of this winter skating party found via Hip Hip Hooray and have a little project up my sleeve inspired by it's beauty.
